Dayton blow for Latics

Image: James Dayrton: Out for three weeks

Oldham's injury woes have continued with the news that winger James Dayton faces a possible three weeks on the sidelines.

The Latics winger damaged ankle ligaments in the 1-1 draw with Mansfield in the FA Cup last Saturday and missed the midweek Johnstone's Paint Trophy penalty shoot-out loss to Chesterfield as a result. The 25-year-old will definitely be absent for the replay against the Stags this coming Tuesday with the winner heading to Anfield for a third-round showdown with Liverpool on Sunday January 5, a contest Dayton may be able to return for. He joins striker Charlie MacDonald (thigh), forward Kirk Millar (ankle and calf) and defender Edijs Joksts (back) on the sidelines, while forward Cristian Montano has been suspended by the club without pay following a National Crime Agency investigation into spot-fixing.
