Wesolowski relishing cold snap

Oldham midfielder James Wesolowski was happy to welcome the cold snap that decimated the weekend's fixture list.

A frozen pitch meant the Latics' scheduled meeting with Leyton Orient at Boundary Park was postponed as only four League One games managed to beat the weather on Saturday. For Wesolowski, it meant extra rehabilitation time as he prepares for the forthcoming trips to Stevenage and Brentford before undergoing an operation to correct a persistent shoulder problem. The 24-year-old has suffered regular dislocations this term and could be ruled out for up to three months, but is targeting a return before the season finale. "It is still vulnerable to popping out until I get the operation, but at the moment I am strapping it up to keep it in place," Wesolowski told the Oldham Chronicle. "The surgeon said to me I can start light training after six weeks and then it is another six weeks after that when I am into full training. My aim is to be available for one or two games at the end of the season."
