Parker pushing for return

Oldham's Josh Parker may be ready to return to the first-team within the next fortnight, says reserve-team boss Lee Duxbury.

The 20-year-old summer signing from QPR had been out of action since suffering a knee injury against Rochdale in August, but returned as a second-half substitute for Latics' second string against Tranmere on Tuesday. "We've got a game behind closed doors next Tuesday, so he'll probably play a big part in that," said Duxbury after the 2-0 defeat at Prenton Park. "Then, hopefully, the following Saturday he might be involved." Duxbury also watched on-loan Manchester City midfielder Andreas Mancini complete an hour and was pleased with the 19-year-old's progress. "He needs his fitness," he said. "He worked hard while he was on and showed a few good touches, so that's a plus as well."
