Oldham boss Paul Dickov says he did not enjoy Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stevenage, but the Scot did pull some positives out of the match.
Shefki Kuqi levelled for Oldham after Marc Roberts had given Stevenage the lead in the League One clash at Boundary Park, but Latics could not find a winning strike in a rough and tumble encounter.
And Dickov revealed he knew exactly what was coming.
"We knew it would be difficult because of the way Stevenage play," he said.
"We've had them watched and we knew what to expect but it didn't really happen for our quality attacking players.
"It was scrappy, horrible and frustrating, although there were positives because Shefki got another goal, Tom Adeyemi was excellent and we probably would have lost that game last season."
