Teenage striker Kirk Millar's first-team breakthrough is on hold after he was sent off for the Oldham reserves.
Latics manager Paul Dickov had hinted Millar was one of several youngsters ready to be handed his chance during the run-in, but the 18-year-old was dismissed for violent conduct in the second string's clash with Morecambe and will now miss three first-team matches. Reserve-team suspensions kick in 14 days after a dismissal, leaving Millar unavailable for Oldham's last three games of the season against Walsall, Swindon and MK Dons.
