Terriers pass on Hornets left-back

Huddersfield boss Lee Clark will not be taking his interest in Watford full-back Mat Sadler any further. The 24-year-old defender has spent the last 10 days on trial with the Terriers in the hope of securing a loan switch. He featured during a reserve fixture against Grimsby last week and had hoped to have caught Clark's eye. However, it has been decided that the former Birmingham man is free to return to Vicarage Road. "We are not pursuing our interest in Mat," Clark told Huddersfield's official website. "I am always looking to improve the team and the squad and I think that has happened with the players I have brought in, but new players have to be better options than we already have. I will not bring players in to be at the same sort of level. "Mat has also had a lack of first-team games and it would have taken him a long time to reach our fitness levels. We need someone to be challenging straight away. "As a result, we have made the decision to end our interest in him."
