Forte set to feature for Iron against Northampton

Scunthorpe United have opted to recall Jonathan Forte from his loan spell at Notts County. Forte's month-long stint with the Magpies expires on Thursday and the Iron have summoned the striker back to Glanford Park. He scored a hat-trick on his Magpies debut against Barnet and manager Ian McParland is disappointed to be losing the 22-year-old. "I spoke to Nigel Adkins today, who informed me that they will be invoking the clause in the loan arrangement to recall Jonathan after 28 days," McParland told the club's official website.

Shame

"It's a shame he couldn't have stayed with us longer because he was a good outlet for us with his pace, but we knew there was always a chance he could go back. "He did well for us and his hat-trick at Barnet on his debut was a memory he can cherish from his time at Meadow Lane." Iron boss Adkins currently has Paul Hayes and Ben May injured, so Forte could be involved against Northampton Town at the weekend.
