Stockport County have completed a permanent deal for Oldham Athletic midfielder Jason Taylor.

The youngster moved to Edgeley Park on loan towards the end of last season and helped the League Two outfit as they managed to stave off the threat of relegation.

Latics manager John Sheridan allowed the player to join Jim Gannon's (pictured) side, despite still having an interest in keeping the player in his squad.

"I told Jim I wanted to look at Jason at the beginning of the season," Sheridan told the club's website.

"However, I was honest with him and offered him the chance to go to Stockport to play first team football."

Taylor joins former Boundary Park team-mate Gareth Owen, who joined The Hatters on loan earlier in the summer.

He is joined by former Macclesfield Town goalkeeper Tim Deasy, who has signed a one-year contract at Edgeley Park.
