Porter crosses Lancashire

Oldham Athletic have snapped up Chris Porter from Bury to boost their attack.

Oldham Athletic have snapped up Chris Porter from Bury.

The Gigg Lane marksman bagged nine goals in 29 league starts last season and has opted for a switch across Lancashire to link up with Ronnie Moore's side.

Moore has been busy stamping his own influence on the Boundary Park club and will see Porter as a striker capable of pepping up his attack.

The 21-year-old spurned interest from other clubs in order to secure the transfer to The Latics.

Oldham have also been linked with a number of forwards including the likes of Juan Ugarte, Scott Taylor, Andy Liddell and Luke Beckett.
