Second Division outfit Oldham Athletic have completed an ambitious move to keep Jamaican international Jermaine Johnson at Boundary Park.

The talented forward enjoyed a productive loan spell at the Latics last season and, having been released by Bolton in the summer, he has now signed a one-year deal.

Johnson is currently preparing with his national side for two World Cup qualifying matches but has rubber-stamped the move over the phone.

Boss Brian Talbot stated at the close of last season that adding pace to his squad was his immediate priority and the acquisition of Johnson should provide an added dimension to the Oldham ranks.

Johnson's signature means that only Will Haining is yet to sign a contract offered by the club.
