OLDHAM ATHLETIC climbed into second place in Division Two with a 2-1 win over Brentford at Boundary Park on Tuesday evening.
Oldham move above both Cardiff and Crewe, after their hard-fought home success.
The burgeoning reputation of Oldham defender Fitz Hall (pictured) was increased further when he headed the Latics in-front.
The youngster met Darren Sheridan's corner after 22 minutes to open the scoring.
The Bees came back, though, and were level just six minutes later when Kevin O'Connor rifled home from 20 yards out.
Oldham then grabbed the lead just a minute into the second half and that proved enough for the win.
Chris Armstrong created the chance down the left and Lee Duxbury was on hand to head home and seal the win.
One moment did sour the evening for Oldham when goalkeeper Les Pogliacomi was dismissed in the final minute for foul and abusive language.
