OLDHAM ATHLETIC have agreed a three-month loan deal with fellow Division Two side Stockport County for striker Ben Burgess.

Burgess could feature against one of his former clubs, Brentford, in a Division Two clash on Saturday.

Burgess has fallen out of favour at Edgeley Park after Carlton Palmer paid a club record £400,000 in the summer to take him from Blackburn Rovers.

The 6'3" striker has a proven pedigree in Division Two, having scored 17 goals in 43 league appearances while on a season-long loan at Brentford last term.

However, he has struggled this campaign finding the net on only four occasions in 17 league outings.

Oldham chief Iain Dowie has moved for the rangy frontman after seeing Canadian international striker Carlo Corazzin undergo surgery on a long-standing knee injury.

Meanwhile, Australian goalkeeper Bradley Jones has returned to Premiership side Middlesbrough from his loan at Stockport County a week earlier than intended.
