Crawley have signed former Millwall defender Paul Connolly on a short-term contract until the end of the season.
The 30-year-old, a free agent since his contract with Millwall expired last month, is not available for Tuesday night's League One home game against Tranmere, but could make his debut at Walsall on Saturday. Crawley boss John Gregory said: "Paul was out of contract and available on a free and we're delighted to be able to bring him to the club. "He has been training with us for the last week or so and has fitted in really well. He's very versatile and can play in defence or midfield so that gives us good options. "He's also got a terrific attitude. We're going to see how things go between now and the end of the season, but I think we've got a good player on our hands who can only add to the depth and quality of our squad." Connolly began his professional career at Plymouth Argyle in 2000 and went on to make 162 appearances for the club before moving on to Derby and then Leeds. The right-back, who can also play in a central defensive role, also had loan spells with Sheffield United, Portsmouth and Preston before joining Millwall at the start of the season.
