Johnson hails goal heroes

Gary Johnson hailed goalscoring duo Paddy Madden and James Hayter as they fired Yeovil Town to within three points of the play-off spots.

A brace from on-loan Madden either side of a Hayter strike ensured the Somerset side got off to a dream start in 2013 by comfortably seeing off in-form Orient 3-0, the losers having come into the game on the back of nine wins in their last ten matches. Johnson was delighted with his side's showing - and believes a deal is imminent to bring Madden to Huish Park permanently from Carlisle He said: "I thought they were both fantastic day, they are a constant threat and both have been very good strikers for us. They always look like they're going to get opportunities because they work so hard. "They were ably assisted by the other lads and defensively we were strong. All over the field we were the better side on the day. "We're not going to rest on our laurels but we thoroughly deserved the three points. "Paddy is our player - I've been dropping hints for a little while now, but early on we spotted his potential and thought we would try to broker a deal for him to come here full-time. "The paperwork will go through, it's already been agreed, and I see him as a Yeovil Town player. "He's going to be worth whatever we pay. He's going to be a top player - he's a great finisher and an unselfish runner. "Next Tuesday's Johnstone's Paint Trophy area semi-final [against Leyton Orient] is a huge game, but it will be a different kettle of fish. It's massive to this club and we are desperate to win the trophy."
