Tisdale takes it on the chin

Paul Tisdale cut a frustrated figure after Exeter went down 1-0 at home to Charlton thanks to a howler from goalkeeper Artur Krysiak.

The only goal of a scrappy League One encounter at St James Park on Saturday came 10 minutes into the second half as Krysiak fumbled Danny Green's cross into his own net. "It was a tough game, a very tight and competitive game," Tisdale said. "I think a draw would have been a fair result, but we have come away with a loss, so I'm disappointed. I'm not unhappy with the way my team played. "We had enough pressure to have got something and whether they created more pressure than us is debatable, but they got the goal and that's often what happens when a team is playing with freedom and confidence and doing well. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen at the other end and I can see and understand that. "They have scored from a bit of a fluke, but that happens. I couldn't really see it as we were making substitutions at the time in a bid to take the game on, so the timing was poor. "The chap crossed it and seemed to fluff it, my eyes were diverted elsewhere and it ended up in the back of our net. I think he probably misjudged it, but these things happen."
