Paul Wotton has had his contract at Yeovil cancelled by mutual consent after making 50 appearances for the Glovers
The midfielder, who signed on from Plymouth in January 2011, has been told by manager Gary Johnson that he will not be guaranteed regular first-team football.
The 34-year-old is now free to look for a new side.
Johnson told the Western Gazette: "Paul had a super season last season and helped the club tremendously. I have had a little chat with him, he has had a little chat with me and we have just decided that he needs to go on to pastures new.
"Nobody wants to be a more experienced player and not get in regular games and I could not promise him regular games.
"So it was better we shook hands and parted company and he finds a club more suitable to him."
