Young Robins stopper to spend month on loan at Stockport

Bristol City defender Joe Edwards has agreed to join Conference side Stockport County on a month-long emergency loan deal. The 20-year-old will spend a 28-day stint with Dietmar Hamann's Hatters, who are currently competing in the Blue Square BET Premier. Edwards goes straight into the Stockport squad for their home encounter with York City on Saturday. Robins manager Keith Millen told the club's official website: "We've got a lot of competition for places in that position and Joe has been unlucky not to be more involved in the first team. "He's been working very hard in training and this loan move will give him the chance to play regular matches and keep improving." The loan deal is subject to Football League and Conference approval.
