Boss compares Upson to Scholes

Yeovil boss Terry Skiverton paid tribute to match winner Ed Upson after his strike secured a 1-0 home win over Wycombe.

In the eighth minute, midfielder Upson tried his luck from 30 yards and the ball flew past goalkeeper Nikki Bull, who got a hand to it but could not prevent the goal. Skiverton said: "People who come and watch every week can see the change in him this season. "He came as a bit of a scrawny lad (from Ipswich) with great ability, but waited to get on the ball. Now he is breaking up play and is a lot stronger. "My technical coach Darren Way has done a lot of work with him, to strengthen him and get him in the mindset to be a little bit nastier. "We gave him the module of Paul Scholes. People said he was a bad tackler, but he had the attitude to impose himself on the game. Now Ed has watched a lot of clips of him in action and we're reaping the benefits."
