Bristol Rovers have signed out-of-contract central defender Adam Virgo from Yeovil on a two-year deal.

The 28-year-old still has to pass a medical for the deal to be confirmed but he will leave the Glovers after just one season at Huish Park where he played 36 times, scoring five goals. A number of clubs, including one from League One, were chasing the former Brighton, Celtic, Coventry and Colchester defender but it is Rovers who have come out on top. Pirates boss Paul Buckle told the club's official website: "He has a fantastic pedigree and is a good leader. He is not only the right player, he is the right person for this club. "He is left footed, so will add a natural balance to the side."
