Skysports.com understands Tranmere have signed French defender Zoumana Bakayogo on a short-term deal.
Former Millwall man Bakayogo has been on trial at Prenton Park for the last week and impressed Rovers boss John Barnes in two outings for the reserves.
The 23-year-old is available on a free transfer and he has agreed a deal until January with Rovers.
Barnes has been looking to bolster his defensive options and he believes Bakayogo will prove a key addition to his side as he looks to climb the League One table.
Bakayogo is expected to go straight into the Rovers squad for this weekend's game against former club Millwall at The Den.
