Bristol Rovers have suspended David Pipe as they carry out an internal investigation following the midfielder's recent arrest.
Pipe, who has not been charged, has been bailed following his arrest on suspicion of attacking a man in the early hours of Wednesday, 16th September.
Police have confirmed that investigations are continuing after a 29-year-old was left with a fractured skull following the altercation.
Chairman Nick Higgs confirmed that former Coventry and Notts County player Pipe would not feature for Paul Trollope's side again until the matter was resolved.

official website: "In light of the serious incident concerning David Pipe we have taken the decision to suspend the player while the club carries out further investigations.
"Obviously the club can make no further comment at this stage."

Meanwhile, striker Andy Williams has been given the chance to establish himself in Trollope's plans after being taken off the transfer list.
Williams was sent back to former club Hereford on loan last term after struggling to settle at the Memorial Stadium before being told in the summer that he could leave if a suitable offer was made for his services.
However, the 23-year-old has started to find his feet for the Pirates this term and has done enough to earn a reprieve.
Higgs added: "After impressing from the bench in recent weeks, the management team have taken the decision to take Andy Williams off the transfer list.
"Andy has worked hard since being put on the list and has really proved his worth to the team. He is looking much stronger, both physically and looks capable of changing a game.
"We all hope that he can continue to prove himself at Bristol Rovers, and if he carries on the way he has been going, his next goal cannot be far away."
