Yeovil's bid for promotion from League One has been handed a blow with news of an injury to Nathan Jones.
The defender is set to be sidelined for three weeks after undergoing a groin operation in a bid to cure a long standing problem.
Glovers boss Russell Slade believes it is the right time for Jones to go under the surgeon's knife, well aware that he can call on Martin Cranie to deputise.
The Southampton defender is currently on a month's loan at Huish Park and will now likely slot into Yeovil's side as a direct replacement for Jones.
"Nathan will be out of action for about three weeks, which is a bit unfortunate for us," said Slade.
"It is probably the right time to do it though because we have Martin Cranie until the end of the month - so we have options."
