Yeovil Town boss Steve Thompson has spoken to former defender Anthony Tonkin about a possible return to Huish Park.
The 26-year-old full back left Town back in 2002 to join Stockport County, before signing for Crewe Alexandra in 2003.
But Tonkin was part of The Gresty Road side, which was relegated from The Championship this season and he has been released by Dario Gradi as a result.
The Glovers meanwhile, are 16th in League One and Thompson believes the Cornish-born player may well make a return.
"I have spoken to Anthony and he knows I would be interested in him," Thompson commented.
"He did very well for us when he was here, before he joined Stockport.
"I think he would like to stay in The Championship but then, if not, we would be very near the top of his list.''
Yeovil face second-placed Colchester United at home in their last game of the season, knowing that their League One status has already been secured.
