Blackpool have posted a pre-tax profit of £9.45m for the financial year ending May 2014, despite the club being 17 points from safety at the bottom of the Championship.

The club, nine points adrift at the foot of the table and with just four league wins this season, announced an increase in profit from £5.9m in 2013 and a drop in turnover from £22m to £18m.

This reduction was offset by transfer income, including the sale of Matt Phillips to QPR for £3.5m, and by a fall in football-related expenditure, such as player wages and transfer fees, from £9.84m to £8.4m.
