Jose Riga has told Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston to deliver on his promises after the two forged an uneasy truce at Bloomfield Road.

Oyston revealed on Tuesday that he was prepared to back Riga moving forward, just days after he had spoken to Burton's Gary Rowett about replacing him at the Seasiders' helm.

However, Riga, who has retained fan support throughout a tumultuous 98-day tenure, acknowledged that a relationship which appeared broken last week will only be revived if Oyston backs him with player recruitment.

The Belgian had to build a squad virtually from scratch, and on the cheap, this summer and failed to land any of the four players he craved before transfer deadline day two weeks ago.

Asked if Oyston's vote of confidence had put him at ease after such an uncertain period, Riga replied: "Yes, but communication is one thing, acting is another.

"From the first day I have said I don't want to speak too much but I look for solutions and I know what I do. I know what I want to do.

"The more we wait, the more difficult it becomes. I don't want to predict because I don't know what can be done.

"Speaking about this is not a lot of fun."

In his column in the Blackpool Gazette on Tuesday, Oyston confirmed he had held clear-the-air talks with his manager over the weekend and identified the need for "two or three extra players".

The Seasiders have lost seven of the eight matches Riga has taken charge of and remain in the bottom three having only taken a solitary point off Wolves on Saturday.
