Paul Hart is in talks with Blackpool over their vacant manager's position, according to Sky sources.
The 61-year-old has been without a manager's job since leaving Swindon in 2011, but it is understood he is in the running to be Paul Ince's permanent replacement.
Ince left Bloomfield Road in January, and Barry Ferguson saw Blackpool to Championship survival during four months as caretaker player-boss.
But Ferguson was released as a player last week as the club announced 17 departures from the playing staff.
The task of putting together a new squad could fall to Hart, who has managed seven clubs since 1988, including Nottingham Forest, QPR and Crystal Palace in the Championship.
