Keeper commits to Blues for another season

Goalkeeper Colin Doyle has signed a new one-year contract with Birmingham City. The 27-year-old, a product of the club's youth system, has made over 50 appearances for the Blues' first team as well as spending time away on loan at Chester City, Millwall, Coventry City and Nottingham Forest. Last season the Irishman featured in several of Birmingham's Europa League games, in addition to a handful of Championship fixtures and cup ties. This time around he will be vying with the highly-rated Jack Butland for the No.1 slot in new manager Lee Clark's side, but he is pleased to have secured a new deal to keep him at St Andrew's. "I love it here at Blues. It's a great club, a massive club," he said. "I'm pleased to have re-signed and I'm really looking forward to getting back in on Monday and seeing the lads and the new management staff."
