Sky Sports understands Rangers have opened talks with Estonia full-back Enar Jaager.
The 27-year-old has been training with the Scottish giants for the past week as he attempts to seal a move to Ibrox.
Now Sky Sports understands that he has done enough to convince manager Ally McCoist to make him an offer.
Jaager is a free agent after leaving Norwegian club Aalesunds late last year and is now set to get the chance to play in British football.
Sky Sports also understands that the addition of Jaager could spell the end of Kirk Broadfoot's Rangers career.
We understand that a host of Championship clubs are ready to take him with Blackpool, Leeds and Bristol City all believed to be keen.
