Keeper staying, loanees return, Bent released

Birmingham City keeper Colin Doyle has committed his future to the relegated club after penning a one-year extension option. The 25-year-old Irish stopper has been with the club for a decade having joined as an Academy scholar in 2001. Doyle made just one substitute appearance in the Premier League this season with Ben Foster the club's number one between the sticks. The shot-stopper has undertaken loan spells with Millwall, Nottingham Forest and Coventry City during his time at St Andrews. Meanwhile, all four of the club's loan signings, Alexander Hleb, Obafemi Martins, David Bentley and Matt Derbyshire have returned to their parent clubs. Striker Marcus Bent, who spent time on loan with Wolves earlier this season, has been released following the expiration of his contract.
