Defender to joins Robins on loan

Skysports.com understands Blackpool defender Ashley Eastham is poised to join Cheltenham on loan. 19-year old Eastham had previously spent a month on loan with League One side Carlisle United which ended earlier this week and Cheltenham boss Mark Yates has wasted no time in making moves to bring the talented defender back to Whaddon Road. Eastham had a successful spell on loan with the Robins last season where he made 20 appearances, his performance against Morecombe earning him a place in the Football League's Team of the Week. Blackpool boss Ian Holloway is keen for his young charge to continue to gain valuable experience in the Football League and is believed to have sanctioned a month's loan for Eastham. It is thought that a number of other clubs had expressed an interest in the 6ft 3 centre half and Yates will be delighted he has managed to secure the services of a familiar face to strengthen his defence as Cheltenham push into the League Two play-off places.
