Frenchman delighted at Seasiders' success

French midfielder Ludovic Sylvestre has expressed his delight at Blackpool's magical start to the Premier League season. The 26-year-old joined from Czech side Mlada Boleslav last week and he made his debut off the bench in Saturday's improbable 4-0 success over Wigan. Few expected Blackpool to hit the ground running following a topsy-turvy summer and Ian Holloway's side defied the critics by putting The Latics to the sword. Sylvestre insists Blackpool could have won by a greater margin and that the team's sound work ethic shone through in the end as everyone gave their all for cause.

Deserved

"We won convincingly and I dare say that absolutely deservedly, too," he told isport.blesk.cz. "We could have even won by an even higher margin. "Everything went our way and we pulled Wigan apart. I will not describe how excited I have been over the last days as it is simply impossible to describe in words. "It was a really big surprise. Even for our team. I will not deny that we were going into the game carefully, humble as we did not know what to expect. And then we win 4-0! Away from home! "We were not favourites and that was probably our advantage. Each player went into challenges with maximum determination, at 200 per cent. We wanted to enjoy the debut and win."
Choice
The 26-year-old had no qualms being on the bench for Blackpool's opener, stating he fully respects Holloway's decisions. "It was the manager's choice and I fully respect it. He picked great tactics, which reaped the benefits," he continued. "I am happy to have appeared on the pitch for the last half an hour. It was spectacular and beautiful, I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was a great experience and I am very thankful to the manager." Before moving to England Sylvestre spent the last two years in the Czech Republic and he is delighted at making his Premier League switch. "It cannot be compared to the Czech league at all and I don't want to downgrade that one," he said. "I owe a lot to it and had it not been for the Czech clubs, I would have never been in England. But the Premier League is something magnificent, particularly thanks to the fans. "Even though Wigan were losing, the fans still chanted and supported them. I can't wait for playing at home venue. Unfortunately, the draw is such that we will be playing there only in round three."
