Keogh and Aldred to move on from Brunton Park

Richard Keogh and Tom Aldred are set to leave Carlisle United after the defensive duo rejected new contracts. Skysports.com revealed earlier on Wednesday that Aldred had turned down an offer and Carlisle have confirmed the teenager will be on the move. The Cumbrians will be entitled to compensation for Aldred after he decided against signing a one-year deal at Brunton Park. Joining Aldred in leaving Greg Abbott's side will be Keogh after the 23-year-old rejected a fresh two-year contract with the League One club. Abbott told the club's official website: "We made a good offer to Richard and we wanted him to stay, but we felt that he had probably made his mind up the longer this went on." He added: "Tom has listened to advice from his representatives and we have to respect that. "We felt that we had made a good offer to a young player who is progressing well, but he has had his advice and he now has to do what he feels best."
