Clough would 'love' to keep forward next season

Derby are making progress in their bid to sign Poland Under 21 international striker Tomasz Cywka from Wigan. Cywka, who has impressed in starting the last three matches for the Rams, is on loan from the Latics until the end of the season. He is out of contract this summer and Wigan have an option to extend his deal, but Derby hope to sign the 21-year-old forward on a permanent basis. "We would love to get him on board next season and we are getting closer to that," manager Nigel Clough told the Derby Telegraph. "We are moving on a little bit further with it. I think next week things will become much clearer and we are still very hopeful." Clough added: "Tomasz has certainly enjoyed it here and we have given him the opportunity to play. He is also the sort of player we feel can improve."
