Grayson: Show me the money

Blackpool boss Simon Grayson admits he is in the dark about his transfer budget.

Blackpool manager Simon Grayson believes his chances of securing Chris Brandon on a permanent deal could be damaged because he is unsure of the club's budget.

Brandon, currently a Huddersfield Town player, spent the final two months of last season impressing on loan at Blackpool and Grayson is now keen to secure the midfielder's future.

However Huddersfield boss Andy Ritchie has recently told Grayson that Brandon will not be leaving the Galpharm Stadium cheaply.

This has prompted Grayson, who guided The Seasiders to League One play-off promotion last season, to question what funds will be available to him in the transfer market.

"Chris did really well here last year. I've got a few options that I need to decide what to do and Chris comes into that," Grayson told Blackpool's official website.

"I'm not fully aware how much my budget is so I don't want to dive in too early and get particular players and end up with a bit more money to spend.

"I've said all along we've got a squad that did well last year and we need to improve it.

"It's about waiting for the right players to become available and not just going out and signing anybody for the sake of it."
