Falkirk have lost out to Cork City for former Celtic midfielder Colin Healy.
Healy had been on trial at Falkirk after leaving Barnsley last month.
Falkirk had expressed an interest in signing Healy, but Cork City have lured him back to his native Ireland.
Healy will be joined at Cork by former Republic of Ireland team-mate Gareth Farrelly.
Farrelly had been at Blackpool after signing a short-term deal at Bloomfield Road last November.
Cork boss Damien Richardson was delighted to land the midfield duo for the new eircom season.
"It is a great pleasure to welcome Colin on board," said Richardson. "It is a great compliment to our football club and to the league that a player of his calibre has decided to join.
"Allied to the signings of Gareth Farrelly and Darren Murphy, this has been a most productive week for Cork City Football Club."
