Casper reveals Bury targets

Bury boss Chris Casper has revealed the names of the five players he is eager to sign.

Bury boss Chris Casper has revealed the names of the five players he is looking to recruit for next season.

The young tactician is looking to build on a tough debut campaign in management last year, with his search for fresh talent already in progress.

Without an experienced goalkeeper following the release of Neil Edwards, Casper has turned to former Oldham custodian Les Pogliacomi following his release from Blackpool.

Former Rotherham midfielder Andy Monkhouse is another primary target and the 26-year-old could be joined by Richie Partridge at Gigg Lane if the wide man, released by Sheffield Wednesday in the summer, elects to move to Gigg Lane.

Casper is also in talks with Macclesfield schemer Danny Whittaker, who is mulling over a fresh contract offer to remain at Moss Rose.

The final player to have caught the attention of the Shakers chief is pacey winger Matthew Hamshaw, who was surprisingly deemed surplus to requirements at Stockport at the campaign's conclusion.
