Tony Butler gave The Seasiders the lead just after the quarter hour mark, but Donny levelled matters ten minutes later through a Michael McIndoe penalty.
Ian Morris (42) restored Blackpool's advantage before Keigan Parker (44 - pictured) gave the home side a 3-1 half-time lead.
Peter Clarke made it 4-1 nine minutes after the break and Ross McCormack made the scoreline respectable with a second for the visitors.
The result sees Blackpool move out of the bottom four on goal difference, with Simon Grayson's side having leapfrogged Bristol City in the process.
