Silkmen want Clyde loan

Macclesfield Town are keen to take Clyde Wijnhard on loan from Darlington.

Darlington manager David Hodgson has revealed that Macclesfield Town are keen to take Clyde Wijnhard on loan.

The Quakers boss made the Dutchman available to find pastures new after terminating his contract for breaching a number of club rules.

The former Leeds United, Huddersfield Town, Preston North End and Oldham Athletic hit-man has already been linked with a switch to Blackpool and Mansfield Town.

The North East club still retain the 31-year-old's registration and as his contract was terminated outside of the transfer window, Wijnhard can only make a loan move to a club like The Silkmen.

"Macclesfield have approached us to take him on loan and now it is up to Clyde," Hodgson told The Northern Echo.

"Clyde has left the club, but technically he is still our player.

"We hold his registration details, which would therefore allow him to join another club on loan.

"I spoke to him today and everything is fine."

One player who arrived for a trial at The Williamson Motors Stadium is left-sided winger Mohamed Saido.

The 22-year-old recently played in Belgium with Genk and could provide another option for Hodgson on the left-hand side.
