Blackpool boss Colin Hendry has revealed he will exercise the option to extend the contract of young striker Matthew Blinkhorn.
The 19-year-old - who is out of contract in the summer - is currently sidelined with a shoulder injury and Hendry was quick to ease the striker's fears that he may be let go in the summer.
"I spoke to Matty before he had his operation because he was concerned he was out of contract," Hendry told Blackpool's official website.
"I told him we would exercise the option which we will do in the next few days."
Blinkhorn has yet to fulfil his potential at Bloomfield Road and was loaned out to Luton earlier in the season to gain experience.
