Nottingham Forest boss Stuart Pearce insists that the club will not be pressured into selling their star players, despite reports linking Jamaal Lascelles and Karl Darlow with exits.
Forest have already rejected a £4million bid from QPR for Lascelles, while the defender has also been linked with a host of other top-flight clubs including Tottenham, Everton and Aston Villa.
Darlow, meanwhile, is understood to have been the subject of interest from Arsenal among other Premier League sides after the 23-year-old established himself as Forest’s first-choice goalkeeper.
Asked if the pair could be set for an exit, Pearce told the Nottingham Post: "Not in the immediate future.
"When it comes to our better players, there is no chance (of them leaving) at the minute."
Forest have already made four new additions to their squad this summer with Danny Fox, Matty Fryatt, Lars Veldwijk and Louis Laing all completing moves to the City Ground.
Sky Sports also understands that the Championship side are lining up a move for former Reading midfielder Mikele Leigertwood, but Pearce was coy on further arrivals as he prepares for his first season in charge.
"My challenge is to build a squad that is capable of winning promotion," he said.
"We have been going down the road with a few individuals. But how close is close? Until the player goes through a medical and signs, you are on tenterhooks."
