Nottingham Forest are on the verge of completing a loan move for Nice defender Kevin Gomis, the French club says.
The 25-year-old could move to the Championship club until the end of this season, with an option to make the move permanent as part of the deal.
Gomis joined Nice in 2011 from Portuguese side Naval.
Forest, fifth in the Championship, are seeking defensive reinforcements following the recall of Jack Hobbs by Hull City.
Hobbs is the subject of a bid by Forest following a successful spell at the City Ground earlier this season, but with other clubs also chasing the former Liverpool player Forest manager Billy Davies looks to be exploring other options.
This season has seen Gomis make nine appearances for Nice, currently 13th in Ligue 1.
A statement on the official Nice club website said the player would be loaned with an option to purchase.
