Reds boss looking for further new recruits

Sean O'Driscoll says it is 'blatantly obvious' that he will have to bring further fresh faces into Nottingham Forest. It has been a summer of change on Trentside, with new owners and a new manager drafted in. O'Driscoll has been charged with the task of guiding the Reds back to the Premier League by ambitious chairman Omar Al Hasawi. Part of the problem for the incoming coach is that he inherited a depleted squad in serious need of reconstruction. O'Driscoll has set about the rebuilding process, with a steady stream of new arrivals brought in.

Gaps

He is, however, aware that further additions are required - especially at the back. After seeing Forest squander a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with neighbours Notts County on Tuesday, O'Driscoll said: "We cobbled together a back four in the second half and it made a difference, but the attitude was first class and we'll take one or two positives out of it. "It is blatantly obvious that there are still gaps in the squad. My right-back was a central midfield player, another central midfield player was in the centre of defence and we drafted one of the young lads in at left-back. "On top of that we had an 18-year-old, who is not the most experienced, who we were asking to lead the back line. That was always going to prove difficult and they exploited that lack of knowledge and experience. "But they will learn from the experience. They have to. There is no point in playing pre-season games if you're not going to learn from them. We'll take the positives out of this."
