Nottingham Forest defender Chris Gunter insists the whole squad are pulling in the right direction to help the club stay up.
Forest find themselves just above the drop zone courtesy of Portsmouth being docked 10 points for slipping into administration.
Steve Cotterill's side have endured a difficult campaign to date, but Wales international Gunter is confident they can climb clear of trouble as their fate is in their own hands.
Forest picked up their first win in six games last weekend against Coventry to move out of the bottom three and Gunter know how important that victory was against the Sky Blues, and he hopes his team can kick on, starting this weekend at high-flying Birmingham City.

"We got a good result last Saturday [against Coventry], we needed that and obviously we know Birmingham haven't lost at home this year so it will be a big game, but one we are looking forward to after last Saturday," Gunter told
Sky Sports.
"We needed that win, I think the way it's been going especially at home we needed a good result and obviously when we are playing teams around us we need to take full advantage.
"Hopefully we can kick on and try and pull ourselves away from the situation we are in."
After the Birmingham game, Forest face fellow strugglers Doncaster and Millwall at home next month and Gunter expects those matches to be tense affairs.
"We said a few weeks ago we've got all the teams around us at home so it is in our hands and we know we can affect what happens to us so we are looking forward to those games and that is why it was important to start those run of games and get the win against Coventry as they will be big, tense affairs against them," added Gunter.
Fans frustration
Gunter admits he can understand the frustration of Forest fans because of their current predicament, but he is adamant everyone at the club is striving to improve things.
"I think as a club Forest is a really big club with a fine tradition, but when you are on a run like we have been on people get frustrated and you can understand the fans being disappointed," continued Gunter.
"With the squad we have everyone is completely in it together, staff included and when the fans are with us it shouldn't be an easy place to come the City Ground.
"The gaffer since he has come in has tried to instil confidence into us and it was good if it took any pressure off him with the win last week."
