Macclesfield are poised to sign former Nottingham Forest striker Emile Sinclair, skysports.com understands.
Sinclair, who ended the season on loan with the Silkmen, is a free agent after leaving Forest earlier this month.
The 21-year-old made 17 appearances, scoring once, for Forest but has spent the majority of the last two seasons away from the City Ground, taking in loan spells at Brentford, Mansfield and Macclesfield.
Sinclair impressed during his spell with Macc and the Silkmen's boss Keith Alexander is keen to bring him back to Moss Rose.
Sinclair's agent, Dan Fletcher, confirmed Macclesfield have made an offer for the forward and that the player is weighing up his options.
"We have an offer on the table from Macclesfield that we're looking at at the moment,"Fletcher told skysports.com.
"Keith (Alexander) showed his faith in Emile by taking him in on loan twice last season and Emile is keen to reciprocate that faith shown in him by giving the offer his serious consideration.
"There's been a lot of interest in Emile in the past few weeks, from League One teams as well as League Two.
"Next season will be a massive season for Emile, possibly a career-defining one, so we need to make the best football decision for his career rather than a financial one"
