Reds keen to tie midfielder down on long-term deal

Nottingham Forest are set to offer Player of the Year Chris Cohen a new long-term contract. The 22-year-old has progressed admirably since swapping life at Yeovil for that at the City Ground in 2007. He has quickly become an integral part of the Reds' first-team and looked comfortable at Championship level last season. A number of eye-catching showings are believed to have attracted attention from elsewhere, though, with Cohen now seen as exciting prospect for the future. Forest are understandably keen to ensure he fulfils that potential on Trentside, with boss Billy Davies hoping to persuade the youngster to pen a new deal. "I have spoken to every player at the club about who is staying, who is going and about their contribution," Davies told the Nottingham Evening Post. "We have spoken about what the future holds. There are one or two people we need to look at and Chris Cohen is one of those. "We have started that process. Now we need to talk to the board."
