Nottingham Forest's League One promotion bid has been rocked by the news Nathan Tyson will miss the remainder of the season.
With Forest still not yet assured of a play-off spot, the 24-year-old's knee injury could not have arrived at a worse time for manager Colin Calderwood.
Tyson endured a setback during Bank Holiday Monday's draw with Rotherham, with the striker having suffered a second ligament injury of the season.
"Nathan has ruptured the medial ligament in his left knee again so he is out for the season," confirmed Calderwood.
"Although it is the same knee, it is a completely new injury and the challenge he took on Monday was enough to severely tear the ligament.
"It is nothing to do with the injury he sustained on the opening day of the season."
