However, Commons has now recovered from the injuries and is hopeful of being back in contention for the trip to Prenton Park on Saturday.
"I think I could get through 90 minutes. The desire to play 90 is there but it's just whether the body will let me," said Commons.
"I do not want to do anything silly like run the risk of damaging a hamstring or a calf or something like that.
"But I feel fine and hope to be involved at Tranmere."
