Nottingham Forest defender Wes Morgan has agreed a new long-term contract.
The 22-year-old has come through the youth system at The City Ground and despite his tender years has clocked up more than 100 appearances.
Now a firm member of first team, Forest have moved to tie him down and Morgan has signed a three-year deal - which will keep him on the banks of the Trent until 2009.
"We're justifiably proud of our record of developing fine young talent and Wes certainly falls into that category," chief executive Mark Arthur told the club's website.
"We're delighted he has decided to pledge his future to us."
Meanwhile, young defender Michael Vickers has joined Grimsby on trial.
Vickers has already been informed he will not be kept on by Forest and so he is now hoping to impress at Blundell Park.
