Toon tell Tavernier to return

MK Dons will be disappointed that Newcastle United have recalled injured defender James Tavernier back from his loan spell.

Tavernier had been due to spend the remainder of the season with the League One promotion chasers but injuries at the Sports Direct Arena have forced Magpies manager Alan Pardew to trigger a 24-hour clause in the deal. Influential defender Fabricio Coloccini is out of Newcastle's fixtures over the Easter period and Pardew wanted 20-year-old Tavernier as cover. Tavernier, who has been injured himself recently, can play at right-back or in central defence. He made seven appearances for the Dons since joining Karl Robinson's side at the end of January.
