Bristol City manager Derek McInnes has made his first signing after bringing in Derby County midfielder Stephen Pearson on loan until January.
McInnes took charge at Ashton Gate last month following Keith Millen's exit and had been looking to add experience to his squad.
He has now agreed a deal for Pearson and the 29-year-old is likely to be in the Robins' squad for Saturday's Championship game at home to Burnley.
Pearson has not featured for Derby since the Carling Cup defeat by Shrewsbury Town in early August and has recently returned to fitness after a knee injury.
Rams boss Nigel Clough revealed last month that he was looking to send the former Celtic man out on loan with a view to a permanent move in January.
The Scotland international will now be aiming to grasp his chance to impress for the Robins during the next two months.
